Yay! Mommy got sleep last night. Colton slept in his bed all night and woke up at 7am. I think it is just what we both needed. I'm sure Raelee appreciated it too. He ate a whole piece of pizza last night for supper, so maybe that did the trick. Pizza can cure anything.....right? He has always slept in his bed all night, by himself, so I knew he was miserable when he wanted me to hold him all night. That is one reason I haven't moved him to a "big boy" bed yet, because he does so well in his. So, now maybe we can get back on track and get back to a normal routine. I feel so out of whack and behind on all my work. All is well in the Johnson household and mommy has regained her sanity....well, sort of : )

The Colton Saga
Sorry it has taken me sooo long to update on Colton, but is literally the first time I have been on the computer since before the surgery. I have held the little munchkin for the last five days. He is currently taking a nap for the first time in his bed. Needless to say, I am one pooped mamma! The surgery went fine. They removed his tonsils...which were the size of Texas....and his adenoids. He was very mad when he came out of surgery and nothing could calm him down. He was trying to rip his IV out, which by the way, they only had tape over. I mean, come on now, the first thing a baby is going to do is rip out the IV! When we got home he was so restless and couldn't sleep. By Saturday, we had taken him off of the pain medicine and antibiotics, because they were just making him itch like crazy. He's had a few nose bleeds, so I took him in today for the doctor to look at it, and he said the throat looked fine. He is healing well... just frustrated. It hasn't stopped him from eating. He's not eating full meals, but he's not settling for ice cream and jello either. The boy likes his meat and fruit. Hopefully him laying down by himself twice today, means he will sleep tonight! Let's just all pray for mommy's sanity. Thank you for all your sweet emails and prayers : )

Sad Part Of Motherhood
My little Colton is going in to have his tonsils and adenoids out tomorrow. This poor baby snores like a grown man and you can tell he is having such difficulty breathing. I have been so upset and felt so terrible for my little man. It's so hard for a 22 month old to understand why he can't have milk the second he wakes up in the morning, or why these strange people are taking him away from mommy. I asked God why have both of my children been in the hospital in the last 2 months? I am so frustrated and tired of my babies feeling bad. I was up late last night, and was reading some of the other mom's blogs that I love, and I realized how selfish I was. Some of these mother's have been in the NICU with deathly ill babies for months, not knowing if they would make it another day. Some of them are begging God for their children's lives. I am so thankful that God has given me two of the most beautiful, wonderful and HEALTHY children. Yes, they have had common childhood illnesses, but they are HEALTHY. They are tucked in their OWN beds, at their OWN home, not some hospital clear across town. So, even though I am terrified for my sweet baby Colton, I am so thankful that it is something simple that can be fixed. No mother wants her child to ever feel pain. There are some things that are out of our control, and it makes our heart hurt for them. Please keep Colton in your prayers tomorrow morning and I will update everyone as soon as we are home.

A Happy Easter Weekend
We had a wonderful Easter Weekend here at the Johnson household. Saturday, Brad was at the fire station, so Grandmother and Pawpaw headed with us to the Easter Egg Hunt at Ellerbe Baptist Church. Raelee had fun making crafts, and Colton had fun finding the sucker bucket. Pawpaw had to explain to Colton the concept of actually picking the eggs up.Once he got the hang of it, and realized there was candy inside, he was picking up two at a time!Raelee wasted no time.
Sunday morning, we headed to SCC for a wonderful Easter service. Thanks Mimi, for sitting in the nursery with Colton! After church it was on to Mom and Dad's for some of Dad's famous ribs. It was pouring outside, so we enjoyed the festivities indoors.
Grandmother playing Ring Around The Roses with the kids
Despite the nasty weather, we had a wonderful Easter. We are so fortunate for everything we have. God has risen and we are blessed everyday because of it!

A Week Of Togetherness
Well, It's finally here....Spring Break. A time I longed for when I was in school, but Raelee doesn't feel the same. She was so sad to say goodbye to Ms.Becca today. She kept making me reassure her that school was not completely over yet. I promised her a week of fun with the family and she could go back next Monday....I PROMISE! Mommy will definitely be ready to ship the munchkins back as soon as possible. I have gotten pretty spoiled to my Thursday lunch dates with Mom, Mimi, and Aunt Peggy. So, hopefully we will have some nice weather, and the kids can enjoy outside. Or, mommy may be a little nutty by the end of Spring Break if we have to stay indoors the whole time....uuggghh! Don't get my wrong, I love the little monkeys, but preschool and mothers-day-out have kept me sane : )

A Beautiful And Busy Saturday
Saturday we had many fun events to attend. To start the morning off, we went to Anderson's 2nd birthday party at the Bryan's house. They have a huge backyard, and it was perfect weather outside. Colton was in heaven because 3 of his favorite things were all out there: balls, a basketball goal, and a dog. Not to mention, Scooby Doo came to the party. I thought Colton would be afraid, but he LOVED him. He would not leave Scooby's side. He kept trying to get him to play football. Of course, Raelee has watched Scooby since she was 2, so she was even excited to see him. They played games and made balloon animals. After the party, we had just enough time for Colton to go home and take a power nap before Raelee's soccer game. We changed clothes and headed out again. Raelee was so funny this game. She was just running in circles. It must have been the early morning birthday cake! Colton found him a friend to share his wagon and make silly faces with. I'm just glad he remained in the wagon....whatever works!
The kids were really good and had a really great day. I was really proud of them, considering everything we crammed into one day. Maybe it was the sugar high! Sunday, mommy worked all day and our sweet neighbor, Cyndi topped off the weekend with some homemade chocolate and peanut butter cupcakes.....yum. So hopefully this Easter weekend will turn out just as nice. I hope so, we have another full Saturday planned.......whew : )

New Holiday For All
I know I'm slacking....I haven't posted any pics from this weekend yet. I have been so busy, and exhausted at night, that I haven't sat down to download them. I PROMISE I will do it tomorrow...for all of you grandmothers waiting. But, in the meantime, I wanted to fill all of you in on new holiday coming soon.
Drum roll please...........Raelee Gets Boobies Day! It is definitely going to be a new national holiday when this child gets tatas. She has become obsessed with them...and mine....all of the sudden. Lord knows, if she does take after her mama, they should be coming any day now! So, not to worry all of you over worked citizens....more holidays are coming soon.
